Corpus of Recorded Counterpoint Examples

In its current form, the corpus comprises six volumes containing 276 counterpoint exempla—over four hours of recorded music—drawn from the sources of Aranda, Lusitano, and de Torres (see table below), together with additional tracks for play-along and musica ficta variants. The six volumes are arranged thematically: Aranda and de Torres each form one volume, while Lusitano’s more extensive material divided into four thematic parts:

  1. Mateo de Aranda, The 38 Counterpoint Examples;
  2. Melchor de Torres, The 25 Solo Counterpoint Examples;
  3. Vicente Lusitano, 125 Solo Counterpoint Examples (Vol. 1);
  4. Vicente Lusitano, 14 Concerted Counterpoint Examples (Vol. 2);
  5. Vicente Lusitano, 34 Examples of Improvised Canons on Cantus Firmus (Vol. 3);
  6. Vicente Lusitano, 38 Solo Counterpoint Examples on Mensural Music (Skills, Vol. 4).
